Second Harvest is Canada's largest food rescue charity with over 1500 social service organizations across Canada. Their free services help to nourish many who are affected by COVID-19 and we are proud to be a supporter.The charity has a dual mission of environmental protection and hunger relief. Through direct delivery and their online platform FoodRescue.ca they recover nutritious, unsold food from more than 1,200 donors and redistribute it to a broad network of social service organizations in Canada. Their essential service helps nourish people through school programs, seniors' centres, shelters, food banks, and regional food hubs.In 35 years, Second Harvest has rescued over 155 million pounds of healthy food, keeping it out of landfills and preventing 192 million pounds of greenhouse gases from entering our atmosphere.KRGinsure has offices throughout Ontario and continuously supports their local communities. We felt it is important to assist Second Harvest in their campaign to keep their trucks on the road during these difficult times when there are more vulnerable people than ever in need of food throughout Ontario and across Canada.
