What Class of RV Do You Own?
RV owners often use “RV” to describe various types of motorhomes, categorized into three primary classes:
Class A: Luxury coaches, including converted buses, up to 75 feet long. They typically feature panoramic front windows, a living/dining area, bathroom, and might include “slide outs” for additional living space when parked.
Class B: The smallest coaches, such as camper vans and pop-up vans, without space over the cab. They often have a small kitchen with a refrigerator or grill, water heater, HVAC, portable toilet, and internal shower.
Class C: Towable but not drivable, including fifth-wheel vehicles and pop-up trailers.
If you own a Class A or B (often called a “motorhome”), you will definitely need specific RV insurance. Regardless of class, additional insurance beyond liability is necessary if you are still paying off your loan or do not own your RV outright, or if you are renting the RV.
